Parent's as Partners

Our Golden Thread is “Time to Talk”, reflecting our strong commitment to prioritising talk and oracy across all aspects of school life.

At Pear Tree Infant and Nursery School, school leaders, led by Mrs Suddhi, are placing a clear and consistent focus on developing children’s speaking and listening skills. We recognise that high-quality talk underpins all learning, supporting children’s communication, strengthening social relationships, and promoting overall wellbeing.

We are deeply committed to working in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that talk and oracy are given the same importance at home as they are in school. Your role is vital in this, and we strongly encourage families to actively support this focus by creating regular opportunities for conversation, listening, and language development at home.

Mrs Suddhi and the school leadership team ensure that regular parent meetings are held to share practical guidance, strategies, and ideas to help you continue and reinforce this important work beyond the classroom. These sessions are designed to support you in understanding how best to nurture your child’s communication skills in everyday situations.

Together, by making talk a shared priority, we can give every child the confidence, vocabulary, and skills they need to succeed.
