Keeping Children Safe & Supported

WakeUpWednesday – Keeping Children Safe and Supported

At Pear Tree Infant & Nursery School, we are committed to helping our children stay safe, happy and confident both in school and at home.

As part of this commitment, we will be sharing #WakeUpWednesday resources with parents and carers. #WakeUpWednesday is a weekly educational campaign created by The National College (originally developed through National Online Safety) to provide families and educators with helpful, accessible advice about keeping children safe and supporting their wellbeing.

Each week, resources focus on a different topic that may be relevant to children and families. These can include online safety, social media, gaming, apps, technology, relationships, emotional wellbeing and other issues that children may encounter as they grow up.

The resources are designed to be short, practical and easy to understand, giving parents and carers useful information and simple conversations they can have with their children.

We hope these weekly resources will help us to continue our Parents as Partners approach, ensuring that school and home work together to support children to be safe, resilient, respectful and ambitious learners.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to look at the #WakeUpWednesday information we share each week and use it as an opportunity to talk with your child about staying safe and making positive choices.
