Key Stage 1 swimming lessons

At Pear Tree Infant and Nursery School, we are committed to providing a rich and varied curriculum, and we believe that offering extracurricular opportunities is an important part of every child’s development. We are therefore delighted to continue swimming lessons at Moorways swimming pool. School leaders are incredibly proud that, as an infant school, we are able to offer this valuable experience to our Key Stage 1 pupils. Qualified teaching staff employed by Moorways will be in the pool with the children, supporting them in developing basic swimming skills. These sessions provide children with important life skills, including water safety, while also contributing to their physical health, boosting energy levels, and supporting overall wellbeing. The children will travel to Moorways on the school minibus on Friday afternoons. We look forward to seeing the children grow in confidence and enjoyment through this opportunity.

These swimming lessons are provided at no cost to parents and carers, as they are fully funded by the school. We are also able to support families where needed by providing assistance with swimming costumes, ensuring that all children can take part comfortably and confidently.
