School Health - Healthy Eating & Healthy Lifestyle
Healthy Eating & Healthy Lifestyles at Pear Tree Infants and Walbrook Nursery School
At Pear Tree Infants we pride ourselves in offering quality educational provision where children are happy and safe learners.
As a school community we understand the importance of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle and working in partnership with the School Health Team we set up a workshops and initiatives such as learning about what a healthy packed lunch looks like, and keeping your child up to date with school age immunisations.
Children's Mental Health
Place2Be launched Children's Mental Health week in 2015, and has continued to highlight this ever since. This year's theme is 'Let’s Connect' and is about making meaningful connections for all, during Children’s Mental Health Week – and beyond.
People thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing.
When we have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – this can support our mental health and our sense of wellbeing. When our need for rewarding social connections is not met, we can sometimes feel isolated and lonely – which can have a negative impact on our mental health.
For Children’s Mental Health Week 2023, we’re encouraging people to connect with others in healthy, rewarding and meaningful ways.
Plac2Be have produced some top tips for parents/carers - please take a look at the below links:
School Health
Please click on the below link to Attendance for parent guides to illnesses and bugs. These guides will help you to decide when to send your child to school and any isolation periods that may be needed for certain illnesses. Please call the School Office if you are unsure.
Flu Immunisations
Each year the School Health Team will visit our school to carry our flu immunisations on children. This is something that parents need to provide their consent for. The immunisations usually take place in the autumn term, and we will provide information in advance of this. If you have any questions, please contact the School Office.

Walk and Talk Events
Healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle are extremely important to us at Pear Tree Infants.
This year we are launching ‘Walk and Talk’ events where parents and carers will have the opportunity to take part in a short walk around the perimeter of the school with your child, their teacher, and their class. This will encourage both children and parents to be active whilst engaging in conversation and becoming involved in our school community.
We look forward to sharing photographs from these events below.
