21st May - Eid Celebrations

We had a special day of Eid celebrations, we covered dates with melted chocolate and decorated with stars, fudge and chocolate chips! We also designed our own Mosques and wore our favourite party clothes.

10th - 14th May - Jack and the Beanstalk

Plum Tree have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk this week! They have been labelling the giant's body using their phonics knowledge, retelling the story with their friends and they have even planted bean plants to see how big they will grow!

5th May - Patterns

Plum Tree class have been using natural materials and objects to make patterns

4th - 7th May - The Gingerbread Man

This week we are exploring the story of 'The Gingerbread Man'.  The children decorated their own mini gingerbread men using smarties, laces and raisins, and mixed their own icing to act like glue!

4th May - Reading for pleasure

At Pear Tree we love to instill a reading for pleasure ethos in our children.  These children picked books to read with their friends in a variety of different spaces.

6th - 29th April - Three Little Pigs

Plum Tree have had lots of fun exploring 'Three Little Pigs'.  They found a crime scene in their outdoor area and were able to work as a team to problem solve.  The children then investigated different materials - straw, sticks and wooden blocks.  They used their creativity to design and make houses out of the available materials.

19th - 23rd April - Little Red Riding Hood

The children have been exploring the book 'Little Red Riding Hood'.  They have been re-telling the story with their friends, making art work and they have even tasted different kinds of breads. The children enjoyed trying a mix of different breads, including pitta, fruit loaf, baguettes and tortilla wraps.
