Summer term 1

5th May - Decorating Gingerbread

The Three Little Pigs

Little Red Riding Hood

The children have been exploring the book 'Little Red Riding Hood'.  They have been re-telling the story with their friends, making art work and they have even tasted different kinds of breads for Granny! The children enjoyed trying a mix of different breads, including pitta, fruit loaf, baguettes and tortilla wraps.  They developed their fine motor skills by using knives to spread butter on the breads.

2D and 3D Shapes - April 2021

Cherry Tree class have been busy investigating 2D and 3D shapes.  We have used play dough to make 2D shapes, have taken part in shape roll and slide investigations and constructed 3D shapes in our outdoor play area.

Active Children

We love taking part in exercise in Cherry Tree class, we like to move our bodies to get our hearts pumping!

Imaginative Play

Children using their imaginations during play is vital to their cognitive development.  It helps build on their emotional, social and language development as well as increasing their creativity and problem solving skills.

Fine Motor Skills

We have been investigating fruit and using different tools to carve, scrape, peel and chop them.  This helps us to develop our fine motor skills.

Creative Activities

We have been very creative in Cherry tree this term.  We love to see their enthusiasm when initiating their own learning and activities.  Some children decided to make their own shoes, rocket jet packs and masks!
