Summer term 2

16th June - Puddle Theme

Today in Plum Tree, the children have been learning all about the season of summer and what the weather is like. They have been making comparisons to the weather in Winter. During our lesson today, we created a puddle outside and have observed what has happened to it throughout the day. The children made predictions saying, "it will dry up because of the sun".

When they noticed the puddle had gone, the children used words including shrunk, disappeared and vanished - Miss Gaskin was amazed at the fantastic words being used.  Some children also chose to write about what they observed.

7th June - Wow Day - By the Sea Picnic

We kick started our 'By the Sea' topic for this half term with a delicious picnic in the school hall.  We had lots of beach decorations and even made some fantastic summer themed crowns to wear!

10th June - Independent Writing

We have once again made the most of this beautiful weather by taking our work outside.  We have been independently writing and forming our letters, using our fine motor skills to hold the pencils and develop our grasp.

10th June - Measurements

Today we have been exploring length and height using blocks to measure lines and hand prints!

9th June 2021 - Fun in the sun!

We have been enjoying learning through play in the beautiful sunshine.

8th June 2021 - Reading

Plum Tree class explored their phonics knowledge by reading clues and finding the matching pictures
